Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
Ambassador Piotr Wilczek was born in Chorzów, Poland on 26 April 1962. He received his MA, PhD and Habilitation (postdoctoral) degrees from the University of Silesia in Katowice and conducted his postgraduate research/training at the University of Oxford (St Anne’s College), University of East Anglia (The British Centre for Literary Translation) and the University of London (The Warburg Institute). In 2006, he was awarded the title of Professor of Humanities by the President of the Republic of Poland.
Between 2016 and 2021, as Poland’s Ambassador to the United States of America, Ambassador Wilczek was extensively involved in promoting and strengthening transatlantic relations, especially in the areas of defence, energy and trade. In 2020, he received the Amicus Oeconomiae award from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland for his achievements in supporting and protecting the economic interests of Polish enterprises in foreign markets. On 22 December 2021, he was appointed Poland’s Ambassador to the Court of St James’s and began his mission in London on 15 February 2022.

Deputy Challenge Director for Digital Security by Design programme.
Since August 2019 Agata is Deputy Challenge Director for Digital Security by Design programme. She has been key in the development of this programme, which focuses on hardware-based cyber security innovation. Prior to this Agata was Innovate UK’s Innovation Lead for Digital, specialising in Cyber Security, working with business, academia, and government to fund related research and development that help grow and protect the UK economy. Other major programmes she continues to lead include “Ensuring the Security of Digital Technology at the Periphery”, and the DSIT (Department for Science, Innovation and Technology) funded Cyber Security programme to deliver a key National Cyber Security Strategy initiative: the Cyber Security Academic Startup Accelerator Programme (“CyberASAP”).
Agata joined Innovate UK in July 2014 as a Lead Technologist for Online Commerce and has over 20 years’ experience of commercial digital activity. She started her career with T-Mobile International in their global Content Team and has worked for a number of innovative content developers and technology companies such as Disney, Capcom, Shazam and Tapjoy.

Sue leads techUK's Technology and Innovation work.
This includes work programmes on cloud, data protection, data analytics, AI, digital ethics, Digital Identity and Internet of Things as well as emerging and transformative technologies and innovation policy. She has been recognised as one of the most influential people in UK tech by Computer Weekly's UKtech50 Longlist and in 2021 was inducted into the Computer Weekly Most Influential Women in UK Tech Hall of Fame. A key influencer in driving forward the data agenda in the UK Sue is co-chair of the UK government's National Data Strategy Forum. As well as being recognised in the UK's Big Data 100 and the Global Top 100 Data Visionaries for 2020 Sue has also been shortlisted for the Milton Keynes Women Leaders Awards and was a judge for the Loebner Prize in AI. In addition to being a regular industry speaker on issues including AI ethics, data protection and cyber security, Sue was recently a judge for the UK Tech 50 and is a regular judge of the annual UK Cloud Awards.
Prior to joining techUK in January 2015 Sue was responsible for Symantec's Government Relations in the UK and Ireland. She has spoken at events including the UK-China Internet Forum in Beijing, UN IGF and European RSA on issues ranging from data usage and privacy, cloud computing and online child safety. Before joining Symantec, Sue was senior policy advisor at the Confederation of British Industry (CBI). Sue has an BA degree on History and American Studies from Leeds University and a Masters Degree on International Relations and Diplomacy from the University of Birmingham. Sue is a keen sportswoman and in 2016 achieved a lifelong ambition to swim the English Channel.

Karol is a career dyplomat and civil servant. Between 2013 and 2020, he worked in the Economic
Department of the European Union at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, covering issues such
as EU trade and investment policy and Brexit; in 2020, as a counsellor in the Chancellery of the Prime
Minister of Poland; in 2021, back in the MFA, covering energy diplomacy in the Department of
Economic Cooperation. Since 2022 the Head of Economic Section at the Embassy of Poland in
London.
Karol graduated from the Warsaw University (international relations) and the SGH Warsaw School of
Economics (finances). He has PhD in Political Sciences since 2016 (Warsaw University).

Rafal Owczarek is Head of Trade and Investment UK & Ireland at the Polish Investment and Trade Agency. Based in London, he leads a team of experts responsible for developing export, supporting businesses, and growing foreign direct investment in Poland and in the UK.
An international trade expert, he had previously established and was Head of UK Overseas Business Network Initiative (OBNI) at the British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (BMCC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The initiative was launched globally by UK Department for International Trade (DIT) to transform the support available for UK SMEs seeking to do business in high-growth, hard-to-access overseas markets.
Prior to moving to Southeast Asia, he had worked as Public Relations and Trade Officer at the Arab British Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) in London, where he was involved in developing trade and investment between the UK and the Arab world.
Rafal holds an MA in International Liaison from the University of Westminster, BA in Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Leeds and BA in International Relations from Lodz University of Social Sciences.

In 2024 Peter will retire from Centrica and focus on supporting companies to adopt AI and inspire large corporations
